Maaya Sakamoto
Voice actor Maaya Sakamoto, known for her roles of Shinobu Oshino in the series “Bakemonogatari” and Aerith in “Final Fantasy VII”, updated the official website on December 27, 2021. She had a child with her husband, Kenichi Suzumura, and revealed that she is planning to give birth in 2022.
In 2011, Sakamoto married Suzumura Kenichi, a voice actor who plays roles such as Okita Sogo of “Gintama” and Zax of “Final Fantasy VII”.
After marriage, she continued to work as a voice actor, singer, and actress, and in October 2021, she announced her retirement from the musical “Little Prince” scheduled for January 2022 for health reasons.
On Dec. 27, Sakamoto updated her blog on her official website. Looking back on 2021, the 25th anniversary of his debut as a singer, he said, “Luckily, I have a child and will give birth next year. I am very happy that what I have been waiting for is coming true for our couple.”
She also said, “During the past few months, the doctor in charge of the case ordered me to take a rest for the time being, and I was forced to take a rest for the time being, so I caused a lot of trouble to everyone involved and worried about the fans.” I will continue to work hard to repay the kindness of all who watch over me.”
Suzumura also wrote on his official website, “I will do my best next year so that I can grow up as an artist by becoming a father and seeing new scenery! Thank you for your continued support.”
